Expressions of Interest
Apartment No. 5 in Darling Point’s historic Babworth House was listed earlier this week. Babworth House dates back to 1915 and was the home of Sir Samuel Hordern. After Sir Samuel’s death in 1956, the house was used as a hospital and nurse accommodation until the late 1990s.
Developers purchased the home in 2000 for just $5.25 million. It was in a sad state at the time, but was renovated and converted into five luxurious apartments.
Apartment Five is a three-bedroom, 2 bathroom ground-floor apartment at the rear of the house. The apartment last sold in 2005 for $4,650,000.
Apartment Three has been on the market since mid-2010 with $8 million-plus hopes. It is also listed for rent at $4,450/week.
